Don't know if many know this, but the default blocking settings on Passions sites are set to block contact from a different country.

So if you're hoping for some foreign penpals, you will need to ensure this block is turned off in your blocking settings.
Otherwise, you'll be waiting a long time.

Thank you! I'm sure most people don't notice this as quickly. I wonder why the default blocking setting is set up like that? It's sad that all this time almost everyone was blocked to contact me. : (

Just wanted to make sure everyone understood how the system is set up now.

Years ago, our system was set up to completely block messages from Countries that were not in (U.S. and Canadian) member's approved contact list.

This was due to the large amount of spam that was being directed at members in those areas.

We modified the system (years ago) so that ALL email messages now make it to the recipient, regardless of their location.

Messages from members in Countries that are not in the recipient's approved Country contact list go into a 'Blocked' folder...but we explain that the messages in that folder are ONLY there because they are coming from Countries not in that member's approved contact list.

When this thread was created, it was correct, but the system does work differently now.

Thanks,

.
